This brake upgrade is designed to improve your braking performance and competitive edge on the track and street. The Stage 3 kit replaces the front Brembo brake system with an aftermarket Rotora 6piston brake kit. The Rotora 6piston brakes include front steel braided brakelines, 2 piece cross drilled and slotted rotors that are light weight and dissipate heat very well, and include Rotora aggressive street pads to match the rear Axxis Ultimate pads. The front rotors are 355x32mm and require 18" wheels for fitment. The 6 piston calipers give a larger surface area for clamping on the rotor. The different sized piston bores apply the proper pressure during braking to give a balanced brake setup with the stock rear Brembo kit. 80% of the braking is done up front, so this upgrade is substantial. The Stage3 Kitincludes the Axxis Ultimate rear brake pads which are an aggressive street pad. Theirhigh temperature adaption without squeaking like a race pad is best for daily drivers. The next part of the brake upgrade is the Agency Power Steel Braided Brakelines for the rear. The DOT approved steel braided brake lines improve pedal feel by reducing the flex the stock lines have. The gel coated steel braided lines with teflon centers will be night and day on braking performance. Next we addto the Stage3 upgrade2 bottles ofthe Motul RBF600 Synthetic Brake Fluid. Synthetic brake fluid does not heat up as fast and will improve brake pedal response and stopping performance. XS Engineering FMIC Kit Subaru WRX/STI 02-06The need for maximum heat rejection is a must on modified Imprezas and the XS Engineering Power IC Upgrade satisfies this need as it provides quick and efficient heat dissipation with minimal pressure drop. This is a bolt-on high-performance intercooler system that includes lightweight, thin gauge, mandrel bent aluminum hardpipes and all the necessary brackets, fasteners, rubber and silicone hose connectors. This kit is so complete, it even includes a new OEM Denso reservoir tank. This combination of components are not only designed for maximum cooling, but also to also add visual appeal to your engine bay. What sets the Power IC apart, aside from the race proven intercooler core, is the carefully selected tubing diameters that result in zero additional turbo lag. On the STi dynosheet, you can see that from 2500rpm up that there is NO LOSS in turbo response. A perfect fit was also stressed during the design and production phase of this intercooler system. There are no tubes rubbing on other factory accessories, hoses, or the hood from excessive diameter intercooler tubes. This system was also designed on North American chassis and not Japanese spec vehicles so there are no unsightly, extra unused brackets hanging off the intercooler tubes. Remember your high school physics class where they taught you that heat rises? Well it's no different under the hood of your car. With the factory intercooler mounted right on top of an engine, transmission, and turbocharger, it simply becomes a heat soaked piece of aluminum. Our Power IC Intercooler System addresses this issue with our front mounted, GTR size intercooler core where it is always in the direct path of cool ambient airflow. Since the factory top mounted intercooler does such a poor job in extracting heat from the charge air (see test below), power delivery with the stock intercooler drops with every passing second. In a test conducted to illustrate how top mounted intercoolers are just not able to dissipate heat quickly enough, a vehicle was run five consecutive times in 4th gear with 20 second intervals in between runs (which is plenty of cooling time). A STi with a stock turbocharger and boost set at 244 kpa (or 20.88 psi) was used for this test. Surface temperatures were measured 0.25" from the end tanks to exemplify how the intercoolers were dealing with heat soak and heat dissipation. Not surpisingly, the stock intercooler became absolutely ineffective after 4 consecutive runs whereas the XS Power IC continued to dissipate heat effectively and consistently. Note that the consistency of intercooler temperatures also equal consistent power output from your engine (your ECU does not have to retard ignition timing to deal with super heated charge air temperatures). Colder intake temperatures at the filter offer a denser charge of air. Although not all engines benefit from cold air intakes, the WRX and STi benefit because of their already small and less than ideally top mounted intercooler. Additionally, we have found that WRX and STi's that utilize tubular exhaust headers can create extreme under hood temperatures that can degrade an engine's horsepower output when using a short ram or under hood mounted intake system. Those of you that are using an under hood intake and a tubular header are probably already aware of the inconsistent power output of your engine. This is caused by the removal of the factory exhaust manifold heat shields. And what do you know?
